LaShelle Easton started the Holy Cow Project after being accepted to CSU’s veterinary school, as a way of thanking the universe for getting her there.
The project’s goal was to raise $1,000 for each of 7 animal-related charities.
While LaShelle did meet her goal of raising over $7000, the distribution among charities was not 100% even because participants were allowed to choose which charity their funds supported.
Several years and a whole lot of battle scars later (vet school is brutal!) LaShelle is a holistic veterinarian in Twisp, Washington. Prior to her “1/3 life crisis”–the one that prompted her return to school–LaShelle had a whole other life as a high school teacher, National Park ranger, and computer geek.
